網絡文化授課大綱/Network Culture Cirriculum
課程概要
深入探討當代網絡文化,因應資訊化時代的新型態網絡,即開放、去中化的組織形式。此外,為了使學生由更廣角度理解當前網絡文化,及所面臨的分析困境,本課將回顧網絡如何被廣泛討論和應用在社會的日常生活及經濟活動,如網絡國家、網絡企業、網絡治理、網絡社交和網絡社會等。基本上,網絡文化彰顯跨領域研究的必要,由課堂中,學生可以了解網絡特殊的結構和運作的邏輯。
第一部份 網絡文化導論
第一週:課程簡介。在網絡文化的導論中,我將由理論和方法不同的議題中,介紹網絡的基本結構與跨領域的研究取向,目標是為了讓學生明白網絡作為一種或數種特殊的組織形式,如何有別於市場及科層中的組織形式,例如,在協作(coordination)的過程呈現不同的運作邏輯。由於網絡文化泛及的層面極廣,我將建議學生對網絡文化以開放的角度進行探討。

第二週 科技的網絡與新經濟
我將介紹網絡與當前電子傳播媒體新科技的發展的關係,探討網絡如何成為常見的主流文化邏輯和研究主題。針對科技的網絡,我將特別介紹自九十年代數位媒體的發展與變遷,對社會與文化中的國家、區域、階級及兩性關係的影響。我將帶學生探討人們如何應用新的網絡科技(如手機、ipod, blog等)交朋友、經營生意,社會互動和政治動員。另一方面,由實證研究的討論中說明網絡不僅是當前因應新科技而興起的組織形式,例如當代全球網絡經濟中的產業組織、政治網絡和社會運動,更深入地探討網絡在空間以及社會關係上的應用與分析。因此,課程最終要重新理解網絡文化,使學生明白如何運用網絡的概念和方法對當代社會生活中各種議題進行分析和應用。我們的焦點不能只放在科技和網絡的議題,更重要是科技所帶出的社會、經濟及文化意含。
